Reuters reported that Altair Engineering (ALTR), an engineering software maker with a market value of about $8 billion, is exploring a sale after receiving acquisition interest.
Troy, Michigan-based Altair is working with investment bankers to gauge interest from potential suitors. If the talks are successful, a deal could be signed in the coming weeks.

October 23, 2024: Bloomberg reported that Siemens AG is in talks about a potential deal to acquire software maker Altair Engineering (ALTR). The German engineering group is working with advisers as it discusses a move for Troy, Michigan-based Altair.
October 29, 2024: Bloomberg reported that Siemens AG is close to agreeing to buy software maker Altair Engineering (ALTR). The German engineering group is finishing a transaction that could be announced as soon as Wednesday.
