1. ACI: Kroger (KR) has filed a motion in federal court to block the FTC from continuing its administrative challenge against its merger with Albertsons (ACI), arguing that the FTC’s process is unconstitutional.
2. X: Reuters reported that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump reiterated a promise to block Nippon Steel’s planned purchase of U.S. Steel (X).
3. HA: Alaska Airlines (ALK) announced that the time period for the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to complete its regulatory investigation of the proposed combination of Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines (HA) under the HSR Act has expired.
