After a brief lull the week prior where only one new deal was announced, we saw five new deals last week. The one that stood out was the acquisition of medical device maker Silk Road Medical, Inc. (SILK) by Boston Scientific Corporation (BSX) for $27.50 per share in cash in a deal valued at $1.16 billion.

Silk Road Medical, based in Sunnyvale, California, and Plymouth, Minnesota, pioneered the TransCarotid Artery Revascularization (TCAR) procedure, which combines neuroprotection and minimally invasive techniques to treat carotid artery blockages and reduce stroke risk.
