Merger activity remained steady last week with three new deals announced and two closing.

New Deals:

  1. The acquisition of SureWest Communications (SURW) by Consolidated Communications Holdings (CNSL) for $340.9 million or $23.00 per share in cash or shares of Consolidated common stock having an equivalent value based on average trading prices for the 20-day period ending two days before the closing of the acquisition, subject to a collar. Overall elections are subject to proration such that 50 percent of the SureWest shares will be exchanged for cash and 50 percent for stock.
  2. The acquisition of O’Charley’s (CHUX) by Fidelity National Financial (FNF) for $221 million or $9.85 per share in cash.
  3. The acquisition of Taleo (TLEO) by Oracle (ORCL) for $1.9 billion or $46.00 per share in cash.
