September 18, 2024: The Financial Times reported that Blackstone (BX), Advent International, and TPG (TPG) are among a long list of private equity firms studying bids for Bausch + Lomb (BLCO). Private equity groups KKR (KKR), CVC Capital, and Hellman & Friedman are also considering bids for the eyecare business, ahead of a soft deadline later this week. The firms have held meetings with Bausch + Lomb’s management team in recent weeks. Potential bidders will have to express interest in making an offer by Friday to stay in the process. Bausch + Lomb wants to enter into exclusive talks over a possible sale by the end of October.
October 14, 2024: The Financial Times reported that private equity groups TPG (TPG) and Blackstone (BX) have teamed up to work on a joint bid for eyecare company Bausch + Lomb (BLCO). The offers were expected to value the company at an enterprise value of between $13bn and $14bn, or up to $25 per share. Formal bids are expected by as early as the end of the month.
October 21, 2024: Bloomberg reported that banks and private credit firms are competing to provide at least $5 billion of debt financing to help fund a potential buyout of Bausch + Lomb (BLCO). A takeover could give the company a valuation of at least $10 billion including debt.
