U.S. TV station owner Tribune Media Co (TRCO) is kicking off a new round of talks to sell itself after its planned $3.9 billion sale to peer Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc (SBGI) failed to get regulatory clearance, people familiar with the matter said on Wednesday.

November 29, 2018: Buyout firm Apollo Global Management LLC (APO) has teamed up with regional TV station owner Northwest Broadcasting in its bid to acquire another U.S. TV station owner, Tribune Media Co (TRCO), people familiar with the matter said.

December 02, 2018: Nexstar Media Group Inc has reached an agreement to acquire Tribune Media Co for about $4.1 billion, a deal which would make it the largest local U.S. TV station operator, people familiar with the matter said.

December 03, 2018: Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (NXST) and Tribune Media Company (TRCO) announced today that they have entered into a definitive merger agreement whereby Nexstar (NXST) will acquire all outstanding shares of Tribune Media (TRCO) for $46.50 per share in a cash transaction that is valued at $6.4 billion including the assumption of Tribune Media’s outstanding debt.
