Brookfield Asset Management Inc. (BAM), Canada’s largest alternative-asset manager, is in talks to acquire Forest City Realty Trust Inc. (FCE-A), people familiar with the matter said.

June 18, 2018:  Forest City Realty Trust Inc. (FCE-A) has restarted talks with Brookfield Asset Management Inc. (BAM), , according to people familiar with the matter.

July 31, 2018: Brookfield Asset Management Inc. (BAM) and Forest City Realty Trust, Inc. (FCE-A) today announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement under which a Brookfield real estate investment fund will acquire all of the outstanding shares of common stock of Forest City for $25.35 per share in an all-cash transaction valued at $11.4 billion, including Forest City’s proportionate share of consolidated and unconsolidated debt.
