France’s Schneider Electric entered into a merger agreement on October 5, 2026, to acquire US software company PTC in a $23.70 billion deal, its biggest acquisition so far.

Like most traditional software companies, PTC and its direct competitor Autodesk (ADSK) were thrown out with the SaaSpocalypse bathwater, presenting wonderful opportunities for investors and companies like Schneider Electric.
