Merger Arbitrage

1. RMAX: RE/MAX (RMAX) announced that on July 13, 2026, the U.S. Department of Justice granted early termination of the waiting period under the HSR Act.
2. WBD: Jeffrey Kessler, Paramount Skydance (PSKY) lead trial counsel, in an interview with CNBC, discussed the lawsuit from a group of 12 state attorneys general challenging the acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD). Kessler said that the companies had planned to close the merger on July 22, when they expected to receive all the regulatory clearances, or they proposed a schedule to the attorneys general “to get all this decided by early September”. But the states rejected both alternatives.
3. AAUC: Ethiopian newspaper Capital reported that Ethiopia has granted regulatory approval for Zijin Gold’s acquisition of Allied Gold (AAUC). Ethiopian authorities provided clearance last week.
