Introduction

Many argue that the founder and chairman of Liberty Media, John C. Malone, was one of the greatest financial engineers of all time, creating a complex web of businesses under the Liberty umbrella. Perhaps the modern version of John Malone is none other than Bill Ackman, who also seems to want to channel his inner Warren Buffett via his Pershing Square empire.
