A couple of months ago, when covering Lyft (LYFT) as a spotlight idea for our October 2025 Special Situations newsletter, I wrote that Lyft has expansion opportunities along multiple dimensions including geographic diversification through a partnership with Baidu’s self-driving unit in Europe. We also noted that given the extreme competition in the food delivery space, it makes sense that Lyft currently chooses to partner with DoorDash instead of going it alone, the way Uber did with Uber Eats.
