New AI Chat on Insider and Guru Pages

  • March 18, 2025

I have been tracking insider transactions for nearly 15 years and over the last few years I realized (yes, belatedly) that it is not as much the company that I should focus on but the insider that is purchasing shares.

  • Are they an independent director of the company?
  • Do they have multiple decades of experience in a cyclical industry?
  • Is this their first insider purchase of the company despite serving on the board for a long time?
  • Was the timing of their prior opportunistic purchases or insider sales good in the past?

I now have a long mental checklist that I go through as I review insider transactions every night once form 4s stop being filed with the SEC.  For those new to form 4 filings, I wrote an article titled Deconstructing Form 4 Filings Filed By Company Insiders.

There are thousands of publicly traded companies and tens of thousands of insiders at these companies. To help speed up our process and to help our Plus and Premium subscribers learn more about these insiders, we have added our AI Chat feature to each insider’s page. Now you can get a quick background about the insider and ask additional questions about the insider.

For example, if you came across Dustin Moskovitz’s $9 million insider purchase of the software company Asana (ASAN) yesterday – just days after he decided to step down as CEO of the company – and wanted to learn more about him, subscribers  can now see an AI Chat button that when clicked on provides more information about the billionaire co-founder of Facebook. You must be logged into InsideArbitrage to access this feature.

We have also upgraded the models available in our AI Chat and both InsideArbitrage Plus and Premium subscribers now have access to some of the latest AI models like Claude 3.7 Sonnet as well as Perplexity Sonar Pro.

We added the AI Chat feature to our Gurus pages, which are investment firms we track across several different categories like event-driven firms, activist firms, etc. For example, if you are curious about how Pentwater Capital Management approaches investing in event-driven strategies like merger arbitrage, you can pull up an overview of the firm as you can see from the screenshot below.

Pentwater Capital AI Chat Overview

Free subscribers can access the AI Chat feature on every single stock quote page to learn more about the company (we call them elevator pitches). Free subscribers of InsideArbitrage can access five elevator pitches and ask five questions per month. InsideArbitrage Plus and Premium members have unlimited access to both elevator pitches and questions. You also have the ability to run all four models simultaneously to see how they respond to the same question.

Plus and Premium subscribers also get access to our Events tab with a history of management changes at the company, spinoffs (announced and completed), M&A activity and more.

Happy experimenting!
