Earlier this year, I wanted to replace a lock on the door we primarily use to enter our house and my criteria was very simple. I wanted a keypad lock that was not connected to the internet and that was from a brand known for durability. Despite a plethora of cheaper options available through Amazon, I decided to go with a Schlage.
The locksmith that came to install the lock mentioned that among the locks he installs, this was one of the better brands. Not only is the brand popular for residential purposes but you can also find them in commercial buildings. The company that makes Schlage and dozens of other brands of locks came into existence through a spinoff from Ingersoll Rand (IR) in 2013 is called Allegion plc (ALLE).
