Universal Display Corporation (OLED): $179.88
Market Cap: $8.54B
Enterprise Value: $8.01B
As we were making our way through compiling insider purchases for our Thursday Event Driven Monitor, we came across an interesting (albeit small) purchase by Director Lawrence Lacerte at Universal Display Corporation (OLED). We created a Twitter thread on the purchase earlier this week, but wanted to delve further into the purchase and the company in today’s article.
Universal Display Technologies was founded in 1994 to advance organic light-emitting diode (OLED) technology through a research contract with Princeton University. OLEDs are thin, lightweight, and energy-efficient light-emitting devices that can be manufactured on both flexible and rigid surfaces. This makes them ideal for use in numerous electronic devices, such as mobile phones, televisions, monitors, wearables, and even augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) applications. As such, Universal Display develops and supplies proprietary phosphorescent OLED materials to manufacturers of electronic devices.
