1. MRO: ConocoPhillips (COP) filed a Form S-4 for its acquisition of Marathon Oil (MRO). The companies expect to close the merger in the fourth quarter of 2024.
2. NVEI: The State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) announced that Nuvei Corporation (NVEI) received regulatory approval from China’s antitrust regulator on June 12, 2024, for its merger with Advent International.
3. X: U.S. Democratic Senators Sherrod Brown, Bob Casey, and John Fetterman sent a letter urging the Biden administration to issue an executive order blocking the acquisition of U.S. Steel (X) by Nippon Steel, as the deal would destabilize America’s trade enforcement system – and in the process threaten American industry, workers, and national security.
