Merger activity decreased last week with three new deals announced and two deals closing.
According to Seeking Alpha, U.S. M&A activity hit an all-time monthly record in May, surpassing the previous highs seen during the height of the dot-com bubble and peak of the debt boom that led to the 2008 financial crisis.

- The acquisition of Altera (ALTR) by Intel Corporation (INTC) for $16.7 billion or $54.00 per share in cash.
- The acquisition of OM Group (OMG) by Apollo Global Management (APO) for $34.00 per share in cash.
- The acquisition of Bio-Reference Laboratories (BRLI) by Opko Health (OPK) for $1.47 billion in an all stock deal. Under the terms of the agreement, shareholders of Bio-Reference Laboratories will receive 2.75 shares of OPKO common stock for each share of BRLI common stock.
