- The acquisition of Rockwood Holdings (ROC) by Albemarle Corporation (ALB) for $6.2 billion in a cash plus stock deal. Under the terms of the agreement, shareholders of Rockwood Holdings will receive $50.65 in cash and 0.4803 of a share of Albemarle common stock.
- The acquisition of Lorillard (LO) by Reynolds American Inc. (RAI) for $27.4 billion in a cash plus stock deal. Under the terms of the agreement, shareholders of Lorillard will receive $50.50 in cash and 0.2909 of a share in RAI stock.
- The acquisition of Franklin Financial Corporation (FRNK) by Towne Bank (TOWN) for $275 million in an all stock deal. Under the terms of the agreement, shareholders of Franklin Financial Corporation will receive 1.40 shares of TowneBank common stock for each share of Franklin.
