Luke Hammerschmidt is a Business Economics student at University of California, Los Angeles. He is from Manhattan Beach, California, and a research intern at InsideArbitrage, where he focuses on special situations and event-driven investing.

He is also a member of the Bruin Hedge Fund club, where he works on stock pitches, valuation, and market research. His current research looks at how C-suite transitions, with a particular focus on CEO succession events and related signals such as CFO turnover, can affect stock performance, volatility, succession risk, and investor reactions.
