Merger Arbitrage

  1. GMS: The Home Depot (HD) announced that it has received clearance from the Canadian Competition Bureau, in the form of a no-action letter, for the acquisition of GMS (GMS).
  2. TASK: Reuters reported that Institutional Shareholder Services urged TaskUs (TASK) investors to reject the deal by investment firm Blackstone (BX) and TaskUs’ co-founders to take the company private. “There does not appear to be a compelling reason to accept the terms,” the influential proxy advisory firm wrote in its recommendation.
  3. ARIS: Western Midstream Partners (WES) filed Form S-4 for the acquisition of Aris Water (ARIS). The companies expect to complete the merger in the fourth quarter of 2025.
