Merger Arbitrage
- OPOF: Old Point Financial (OPOF) and TowneBank (TOWN) announced that they had received regulatory approval from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Bureau of Financial Institutions of the Virginia State Corporation Commission. The merger is expected to close on September 1, 2025.
- GNTY: Guaranty Bancshares (GNTY) filed a definitive proxy statement. The companies expect the merger to be completed during the fourth quarter of 2025.
- MLNK: Bloomberg reported that a group of private credit firms is providing nearly $1.4 billion of loans to support Centerbridge Partners’ acquisition of financial software platform MeridianLink (MLNK). Goldman Sachs Asset Management, alongside Blackstone (BX), Ares Management (ARES), Blue Owl Capital (OWL), and Antares Capital are participating in the financing.
