  • February 16, 2023

The shake up in the technology world that has seen companies cut staffing sharply in pursuit of GAAP profitability saw another corporate casualty last week. Meta Platforms (META) announced the departure of Marne Levine, Chief Business Officer after a 13-year stint.

Welcome to edition 28 of C-Suite Transitions, a weekly series on InsideArbitrage that tracks appointments and departures at publicly traded companies during the prior week. We highlight five appointments and departures each week by picking the largest companies from the full list of management changes.

  1. Meta Platforms (META): On February 8, 2023, Marne L. Levine informed Meta Platforms about her decision to resign from her position as Chief Business Officer effective February 21, 2023.
  2. Diebold Nixdorf (DBD): On February 9, 2023, Diebold Nixdorf announced that effective February 28, 2023, Jeffrey Rutherford will be departing as the company’s Executive Vice President, and Chief Financial Officer.
  3. Solid Power (SLDP): On February 8, 2023, Solid Power and Jon Jacobs mutually agreed to the termination of Jacobs’ employment as Chief Marketing Officer of the company, effective February 8, 2023.

Michelle Leder, founder of Footnoted and author of Financial Fine Print mentioned in a recent interview that the biggest red flag she looks for in SEC fillings is sudden resignations.

There have been two sudden departures at Meta since the company announced its earnings on February 1, 2023.
